As a graphic designer at Containr Affairs, I co-created the concept, led branding, and art directed the interior design of Supernova Hotel Rotterdam—a vibrant boutique hotel embodying the city's raw energy and the colorful, multicultural Kruiskade neighborhood vibes. This project won the VENUEZ Best Hotel Design award in 2019, blending explosive supernova-inspired graphics (drawn from the hotel's name) with elegant hospitality elements. Perfect for travelers seeking boutique hotel interior design, and modern urban hospitality concepts.
The identity turns spaces into immersive, welcoming experiences. Inspired by a supernova's burst and Rotterdam's gritty, diverse spirit, the branding infuses dynamic graphic elements throughout: neon hallway accents, playful carpet patterns, and stationery with cosmic bursts. I also handled material selection and digital assets to ensure seamless integration, creating a multifaceted atmosphere that balances raw urban edge with boutique sophistication—ideal for a vibrant Rotterdam boutique hotel and creative urban hotel identity.
Vivid, space-inspired colors guide divisions via color blocking and ton-sur-ton combinations, extending to stationery, signage, and navigation for cohesive branding. At the heart is a clever block logo serving three functions:
Supernova: For the overall hotel.
Supper: Highlighting the Bar & Bites area.
Superette: For the on-site shop.
