Chez Jan Hotdogs

Project description
As the graphic designer for Chez Jan under Containr Affairs, I developed a vibrant and cohesive brand identity that elevates the Netherlands’ premier artisanal hotdog brand. My contributions included conceptualizing and designing the logo, trademark, a whimsical sausage dog mascot, DIY hotdog packaging box, food truck branding, and menus, bringing the brand’s vision to life across multiple touchpoints.

Chez Jan is a standout in Dutch street food, renowned for its handcrafted hotdogs featuring a custom sausage from Brandt & Levie, a unique bun from Jordy’s Bakery and signature sauces. Operating food trucks, bars, and a former kiosk at Rotterdam’s Station Bergweg, Chez Jan blends the bold, playful energy of a New York street vibe with the refined elegance of a French bistro. The brand identity I created captures this fusion through a classic monogram logo featuring the letter ‘C’ and a sausage dog mascot, which I conceptualized to embody the brand’s playful yet sophisticated charm. Inspired by the vibrant red of classic American hotdog stands and the deep, elegant blue of French bistros, the color palette, paired with tactile material choices, evokes authenticity and craftsmanship.

This cohesive identity reflects Chez Jan’s commitment to fun, quality and artisanal excellence, creating a memorable experience for customers.
